About us

Company Profile

Delaw Chambers is a full service law firm based in Lagos. Located within the judicial district and close to the commercial nerve centre of Lagos Island. This central location makes the firm readily accessible to its corporate and individual clients in all parts of Lagos.
The practitioners at Delaw Chambers have all previously practised law in well-established and distinguished law firms. They thus bring with them into the firm, an aggregate of the highest skills representing various fields of specialisation. We have competent administrative staff who are well trained to meet the needs of modern legal practice.

Delaw Chambers undertakes a mix of assignments with a sizeable number of corporate organisations, banks, non-bank financial institutions, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and other government corporations/parastatals, construction companies, insurance companies, stock broking firms, trading companies, oil & gas exploration and production companies, real estate and ICT companies, to mention but a few. Our long-standing involvement in corporate and commercial, oil and gas, environment and taxation laws enables us to understand the underpinning issues at play in these industries.

We pride ourselves in understanding both the legal issues involved in any case, and the business concerns of our clients in order to deliver excellent service. We have a culture of working efficiently, effectively and ethically to meet and exceed clients’ expectations.

Our practitioners have also acquired wealth of experience over many years, as strategic growth consultants to several clients, whom we consider partners in the growing process.  We have over the years been involved in major debt recovery and location of assets instructions for both our corporate and government clients.

Our litigation practice covers the full spectrum of Nigerian law, while embracing both emerging and other well-established methods of dispute resolution.  From experience, the time and expense saved by resort to these methods, serve to preserve and enhance good relationships for the future.  We are therefore in a position to advice on and assist with non-litigious dispute resolution and claim procedures.

Delaw Chambers has also, by way of innovation, structured certain synergies into its practice with an eye on, and with the aim of, providing services, which strictly speaking are outside the purview of legal practice.  To this end, we are successfully offering legal audit services to companies, to ensure that their statutory duties under the law and various guidelines are met as and when due. We also offer pre- and post-litigation services to clients and other professional firms.  These include:-

  • evaluation of recoverable assets *Perfection of Title *
  • Assessment of opposing party to determine litigation or settlement strategy
  • Location of assets of purportedly judgement-proof parties
  • Pre-litigation asset assessment and analysis
  • Post-judgement searches
